About 89.0 RTL
89.0 RTL is a private, commercial radio station situated in Halle (Saale) that the RTL Group owns. It is produced at the same radio station as Radio Brocken and, unlike its sister program, caters to a significantly younger demographic. According to its claim, the station plays “today’s best hits” for those aged 14 to 39.
The VHF frequency 89.0 MHz broadcast from Brocken (Harz) is considered one of Germany's technically longest-reaching. In contrast to its sister program Radio Brocken, which is still explicitly centered on Saxony-Anhalt, 89.0 RTL addresses a greater distribution area that is not precisely defined, leading to the term "RTL sector" being used occasionally. Traffic and speed camera data include cities such as Wolfsburg, Hanover, Braunschweig, Göttingen, Kassel, Erfurt, and Bad Hersfeld, despite the fact that Saxony-Anhalt only has a broadcasting license.
